piso para sa puso
here is my update guys... this is for my #pisoparasapuso drive to make twitter more useful to the community... i was asking if you were ok with me setting up a bank account and hopefully you guys deposit once a month whatever amount sana not more than 5,000 pesos, even the smallest piso contribuition will always be welcome, if my half a million followers hypothetically gave one peso each month that would be 500k plus, a big big amount of help for any charity then we all choose a certain charity/institution each month to be our recipient... here's the catch..
i spoke to the banks and they would be more than willing to accommodate BUT the bank is worried if some who donate will ask for an accounting of their donation... this might reach a point wherein i will have to disclose some of my personal banking information which i cannot.. so all donations will have to come with a "trust basis".. no questions asked, i will take a picture of the amount produced each month and post it on twitter so you know how much the total donation will be but i CANNOT and WILL NOT account the donations given, once wired or deposited, no more questions asked... so this will be a disclaimer of some sorts... if you deposit sa piso para sa puso, no questions can be asked regarding the transaction, only to vote which charity it goes too, need your opinion here guys... what you think?
additional info : it will be under a separate account however if WORST CASE scenario and someone asks for the accounting and the issue becomes worse, i will have to show my accounts.. which i will not do

Its really up to you.. Cos diba we're not only focusing on one charity? If I'm not mistaken, you mentioned before that we'll be funding/donating to different charity every month.. So it really doesn't matter on where would be the proceeds will go or on what charity we'll be donating FIRST :) P.S. Sorry for overusing the word 'Charity' haha.

If they're donating then they agree with the disclaimer. They won't if they do not trust you.

I think terms, conditions & disclaimer are the only way. they can't force you and the bank for an accounting.

I think that disclaimer is ok. I was thinking it would be nice as well if some of your fans can physically join you when you do some of those outreach, kasi sometimes diba more than money, it's worth a lot to give time.
hi @luckymanzano... its really nice of you to initiate this type of project, i hope you could consider helping animals too like abandoned cats and dogs... :-)
anyway, for the bank acct concern, i suggest not to put the money under your own name to cover your self.. because people may trust you now but you do not know what the future holds... in the kind of business you're in, one intrigue could ruin your credibility..
if you are really serious abt this, it would be better if you will look at the option of setting up a foundation for "pisoparasapuso" and register it in SEC or in whichever agency it should be registered.. in this way, you can have a full accounting of the foundation's reciepts and disbursements without disclosing your own bank account details...
i hope this helps... this is just a suggestion, its still entirely up to you...

Why not just open up a new bank account in your name to use solely and only for this pisoparasapuso? in this way you are not disclosing your 'personal' bank account if you know what i mean
And another thing, why not join up annecurtis with this pisoparasapuso? Anne have nearly 1.5 million followers. AFAIK you are very close with anne so you might want to suggest this to her?
When an activity involves money, it should have accountability and responsibilty to avoid misunderstandings in the future.

I think it's best to ask the donors to sign a waiver too before they send their donation. (i.e. that they waive their right to claim for an accounting). That way they're legally barred from asking you to disclose stuff and neither are you obliged to do so. :)
If you are really serious, tama yung isang fan mo dito. I-set up mo yan sa SEC at gawing foundation. Tapos, magopen ulit ng bank account under the foundation's name. Sa ganitong paraan, may proper accounting. Saka kung sino mang loka-loka dyan ang magdemmand for records, may ipapakita ka. Hindi naman lahat, pero alam mo naman ang mga Pilipino...

Anyway, I suggest mag-set up ka na lang ng ibang bank account para hindi related sa'yo, that way, hindi ikaw ang maiipit if ever worst cases come and also for purposes of public disclosure of information regarding the flow of the transactions with the depositors. Besides, I think it, really, is an imperative sa mga bangko na magdisclose ng mga ganung info since yung proceeds naman nung mga donations eh para sa mga charitable institutions na gustong niyong tulungan. Anyhow, this is just my own view of such things. For the most part, ikaw naman magdedecide kung ano'ng mas okay. Oh and one more thing, no need to register with SEC kasi hindi ka naman siguro mag-eestablish ng foundation diba, the simple bank account will do. :D
Seeing that you're involved in the community, I was curious to ask you what foundations you prefer. I'm looking to consider volunteering for foundations and charities based on helping the youth in the community when I go back home to the Philippines for vacation, with some ideas in mind. Thank you!

Hi Luis, I suggest you open a new account with a co-depositor (JOINT ACT) so anyone who would ask for the acctg of cash, it would be available. I'm an accountant I can talk to our Bank Manager should you need help on this so you may not need to divulge your personal information. JOINT Acct would be good so you can have control on the acct and can easily be audited. Providing the cashflow/cashposition or even Financial Statement to your followers/depositors on a monthly basis would be great to prevent issues in the future. Goodluck and God Bless.
nice initiative for a good cause, however there's a saying money is evil... i agree with iamjcm's suggestion and the bank's concerns of course. It's also nice that you're getting opinions of your followers before you start anything.
I suggest aside from maximizing the power of twitter or any other social media, and then you as a celebrity, better establish a foundation for your "piso para sa puso", just to sustain it. You wouldn't know how far you can go with this.
With a registered foundation, every detail can be transparent. Think of it like a business since there's money involved. Donations can come not only from your twitter followers but to whoever will believe in you with this initiative. Your popularity as a celebrity is a big advantage.
Just my opinion, my suggestion. You might want to take some precautions too... Good luck, Lucky!!!
